The Pure Pens Ink range was first launched in February 2018. The idea behind the ink was to provide a high-quality series to customers, which was affordable, and also told a bit about the company in the process. With Pure Pens a proud Welsh company, developing Celtic-themed inks seemed entirely befitting. Many of the inks tend to sit in between other ink producers' main colours, giving fountain pens another unique palette to add to their collection.

Celtic Sea captures the fresh, wild and un-tamed elements of Irish, Welsh and Scottish waters. Its bright green-blue sends you to summertime, while the darker pools serve as a permanent reminder of stormier times. The ink shades with each downstroke, giving it a consistently vibrant appearance. It is bright enough to set itself apart from the everyday blue, while subtle enough for everyday writing.
The Cadwaladr ink is the namesake of the King of Gwynedd, AD 655-682. A mythical figure of Welsh culture, King Cadwaladr was the last King of Britain and boasted the famous red dragon on his coat of arms. That dragon of course is the renowned creature that adorns the Welsh flag as it is today. Shading with each downstroke, giving it a consistently vibrant appearance, Cadwaladr sits on the boundary between blood red and claret. Its deep tones are furthered by the almost brown/ black pools created by the shade.
As the sun sets over West Wales, the orange light casts a warm and evocative scene across the South Wales Pendine Sands' beach landscape, and our Pendine Sands ink aims to replicate that in a bottle!
Llanberis Slate ink has a mid-grey colour with a subtle purple undertone - just enough to make it unique. It shades with each downstroke, giving it a consistently deep appearance. Its very subtle purple tinge is just enough to set itself apart from 'normal' ink colours and is perfect for a slightly different everyday carry
Porthcurno Cove ink shades with each downstroke, giving it a consistently vibrant appearance. It is bright enough to set itself apart from the everyday blue, while subtle enough for everyday writing.
The Glen of Antrim ink is a mid/dark green which are a brown undertone and excellent shading.
The Saltire Blue ink possesses a purple-red sheen which shows where the ink pools. Otherwise, the blue of the ink sits somewhere between royal and navy. It lays down an especially rich tone when you combine it with a wet nib- the wetter the better!
